Business Plans

What is a business plan? - A business plan is your roadmap to success!

A business plan is any plan that works for a business to look ahead, allocate resources, focus on key points, and prepare for problems and opportunities.

Unfortunately, many people think of business plans only for starting a new business or applying for business loans. But they are also vital for running a business, whether or not the business needs new loans or new investments. It has been found that 80% of businesses without a business plan fail within the first five years. Businesses need a plan how on to run the business and optimize growth and development.

If you plan on obtaining finance, whether it is from a financial institution or independent investors, a business plan will be the first thing they ask to see. Business plans not only provide a way to obtain financing, but they also show how all functions of business will integrate together. This creates a great communication tool for the business owner to utilize. Many of the ORIGIN partners have workshops, seminars, and consultation available to help you write a winning business plan.

The following ORIGIN partners provide assistance or trainings for those looking to write a business plan: UW-Oshkosh Small Business Development Center, ADVOCAP, SCORE and the Fox Valley Technical College Venture Center.
